                        Mindfulness

I discovered that my life had been compromised by stress, fear, worry, contraction, anger, manipulation and a myriad of negative approaches to living, none of which gave me peace. Life is too short to live in this manner. If you feel there is more to life than running from morning to night, worshipping the notorious rat race, and sacrificing your own peace, calm, happiness, and spirituality,  then it's time for you to consider alternatives. You no longer have to be the world's slave. You can take control of your own life and design it the way you want it to be.
Please visit this page often. I will be adding more information regularly. It is my hope that I can inspire you to new aspirations and help you to create the life that you want.

                                                                     --Philip McCoy

Are You a Slave to Speed and Stress?

If you are like most people, you live a daily life of bondage as though you were in chains. You probably don't realize it because over time it has become a habit, a way of life. Your entire body is contracted and tight but to you it seems normal. When the body is contracted and tight, the mind is also contracted and tight. This has a very detrimental effect on you physically, mentally and spiritually. It causes restless nights, bad decisions, depression, anxiety, fear and an endless list of debilitating effects on your life. When you live this way you are not your real self. You're not who you were put here to be. You're not fulfilling your destiny. You're busy being anything and everything  except YOU. Every time you slow down a little bit and begin the process of getting to know yourself, you're interrupted by the world trying to get you to do something that it wants you to do. The system knows that if it let's you slow down, you might regain control of yourself and it will lose its control over your life. Aren't you tired of living this way? Are you really going to keep wasting your life and letting the world make all your decisions?

Who is in Control of Your Destiny?

Each one of us is here for a purpose. There are things we are supposed to do while we are on this earth. When we are in too big of a hurry, constantly running here and there, living like those around us, assuming that because they are living in a certain way, then that must be the way we are supposed to live, we are missing our own personal destiny.
We must begin to think for ourselves and control our own lives. We must break free from the habitual trance in which we find ourselves. We cannot continue to live as sheep, constantly pursuing the same blind agendas as the other sheep. To do this, we must slow down and find the time to be still in mind and body. We have to practice going deep inside ourselves and seek God's will for our lives and we must do this on a regular basis.

What Do You Want to Be Remembered For?

Life is short! When you reach the end, what do you want to be remembered for? Let's take a look at a list of possibilities:
          All the television I watched
All the nice cars I owned
          My beautiful house
How good I was at video games
How fast I was at getting things done
          All the arguments I won
          The nice clothes I wore
          How rich I was ...
The list could go on forever, I think you get the picture.
We need to consistently ask ourselves, "What is really important to me in life? What do I really want to accomplish on this earth before I am gone? What do I want to be remembered for? Will any of these things have a lasting effect after I am gone?"
We must remember that in an existential way we die each night at midnight.
The day ends at midnight and we will never have that day to make decisions again. It's gone and so are we for that day. It's like we bury ourselves each night at midnight, never to have the opportunities of that day again. We must make each day count and make sure that we are engaged in the activities that are most important to us. The way to do this is to slow down and be more mindful.
There is a cartoon that shows a cemetery. There is a word bubble coming up from one of the graves. In the bubble are the words, "I think I know what I want to do with my life now."
