                                My Experience
    

      I had many health problems before making the change to raw foods. I weighed 200 pounds and was 5'8" tall. My thyroid was enlarged and my joints ached on a daily basis. My glucose level was at the pre-diabetic level, my blood pressure was high and my body was very acidic. I did not have enough energy and I felt stressed out all the time. I was also anemic. I knew there had to be a way out and I searched and prayed until I found it. That's what this website is all about, "A Way Out".
     When I began the transition to 100% raw foods, my health began to improve immediately. I followed the Hallelujah Diet for this transition. I began to lose weight, all heartburn went away, my eyesight improved, I had more energy, flexibility improved, joint pain began to decrease, and much more. When I was really amazed was when I read the results of the lab results for blood tests that had been ordered by my doctor. I have familial hypercholesterolemia which means that my cholesterol has always been in the 300's. Diabetes also runs in my family.

Here are the results:
Beginning weight: 200
Day 90: 159

This was just the beginning. Each day held new surprises. It was as though my body was completely reinventing itself. In the beginning, I was carefully observing certain aspects of my health that I was hoping would change, but in addition to the positive results in those areas, I was discovering many unexpected improvements on a daily basis.

If you are considering becoming a raw vegan, I hope you will visit this website on a regular basis. There is no way I can describe to you how much it will change your life for the better. You will become a completely new person in every way! The first day that you begin to eat more raw foods, your body will begin to cleanse itself, you blood will begin to remove all sludge, all of your cells will begin to receive more oxygen and will begin to increase their electrical potential. You will begin to feel truly alive like you did when you were a teenager.

First Two Weeks of My Transition
    When I first began the transition to raw, I decided that I was not going to be so concerned with the type of cooked foods I would eat, but instead, seek to simply incorporate more raw foods and salads into my daily routine. My plan was to gradually discontinue the use of the cooked foods as I went along. I don't believe it makes much difference in the beginning because just the act of adding more raw foods in the form of salads, raw juices, green smoothies creates such an immediate change in your health and how you feel. For this reason, you can begin your transition using whatever cooked vegetables you choose as long as they are without sugar, grease, oils and other negative ingredients. Of course, you should not use microwaves, such as in the preparation of potatoes, etc. Baking would be the advisable option here. 
     If your are not already a vegetarian, the first thing you need to do is eliminate all meat, fish, dairy, caffeine, refined sugar, etc., which would include items such as candy, potato chips, soft drinks, pies, cakes, bread, and similar products.

This was just a two week example of how I started out. It continued in this manner, gradually eliminating cooked foods until I became 100% raw. As you pursue a similar plan, you will learn very much about your body, your mind, and your emotions. You learn what works and what doesn't work. You will also discover that your body has already undergone miraculous changes in this short time.
